Where We Detail Boats in Central Texas

EXTREME Boat Detailing works on Lake Travis, Lake Austin and across the greater Austin, Texas area. Every job happens where the boat already is: a private dock, a marina slip, a boat lift, or a dry-storage bay. Nothing gets trailered to a shop, and you do not have to move the boat to have it detailed.

A mobile service, described plainly

Mobile means the work travels. We arrive at the location where the boat is kept, set up around it, and perform the cleaning, correction and protection work in place. That is a practical advantage for boats that live in the water, because pulling a boat, trailering it and returning it usually costs an owner more time than the detail itself.

It also means the location shapes the visit. A covered slip is cooler to work in but harder to move around; a boat on a lift may need to be lowered before hull work is possible; a private dock behind a gate needs someone who can let us in; a dry-storage bay may have no water or power at all. None of these are obstacles, but all of them are worth confirming before a scheduled visit rather than discovering on arrival.

The two lakes we work on most are genuinely different environments, and those differences change what a boat needs. Lake Travis is a reservoir whose level moves through the year, with a large amount of covered slip and dry-storage keeping. Lake Austin holds a constant level along a heavily residential shoreline, where boats sit in the water or on private lifts continuously. Each has its own page below.

The greater Austin area

Beyond the two lakes we work on boats kept in the wider Austin area — in dry storage, in a covered bay, or on a trailer at a home. A dry-stored boat has a different problem profile from a boat that lives in the water. There is little or no waterline band to address, but the surface still takes the full Central Texas UV load, so oxidation and faded, tired vinyl are more often the reason someone calls.

For those boats the work usually leans toward oxidation removal and gelcoat restoration on the exterior, plus upholstery cleaning and interior detailing for the cockpit. Tell us where the boat sits and we will tell you what the location changes about the job.

What we do, wherever the boat is

Detailing by boat type

Two boat types get their own detailed treatment because their needs differ most from everything else on the water:

  • Pontoon boat detailingAluminum tubes and fence panels, wide open decking and a large amount of vinyl seating in full sun.
  • Wake and wakeboard boat detailingDark and metallic gelcoat, towers and stainless hardware, heavy vinyl and constant water contact at the transom.
  • Center console boat detailingUnshaded helm surfaces, an unusually high stainless load per foot, and non-skid decking that holds grit below the texture.
  • Yacht detailingFreeboard and surface area drive access and staging, and interior and upholstery work is often the larger share of the visit.

Tell us which lake or area the boat is kept on and we will quote the work for that boat.
